Due to the high traffic cherry blossom season, the last admission to the gardens on the weekends may be earlier than our normal 4:30pm. Parking is also limited. Plan accordingly.

Photography at Hakone
Hakone is beautiful in every season and photography for personal use is encouraged. However, a photography permit is required if you plan to use the gardens as a backdrop for your photo shoot. See Visitor Info or email the events office for more information.
About Hakone Estate and Gardens
One of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s premier sites and 100 years old, Hakone is one of the old Japanese estate, retreat and gardens in the Western Hemisphere. Hakone has also been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2013. 18 acres of magnificent beauty is nestled in the verdant hills of Saratoga overlooking Silicon Valley.
